Rosie and Lottie Tamm

Thanks to the incredible generosity and support of our beautiful community we have been able to donate much needed funds to this incredible family. Hurt to Help’s support has gone towards helping Rosie and Lottie under intensive rehabilitation with the aim of improving their functional ability. Please read their inspiring journey below

Rosie and Lottie were born unexpectedly at just 26 weeks while their parents were visiting Albany for a wedding. Their sudden arrival sent the hospital into a frenzy, and within hours the twins were delivered and urgently flown to Perth for specialist care. Both girls suffered severe brain bleeds, leading to hydrocephalus, and underwent multiple brain surgeries in their first few weeks of life.

They spent five months in hospital fighting through countless challenges—resuscitation, blood transfusions, oxygen support, feeding issues, and more. After finally coming home to Karratha, the family’s journey remained intense, with ongoing medical needs, regular emergency flights, and frequent hospital stays. Lottie developed infantile spasms and seizures, while Rosie had repeated shunt malfunctions requiring urgent surgery.

The remote location made everything harder, so the family made the tough decision to move to Albany to be closer to care and support. It was the best choice for the girls’ health and wellbeing.

Now 3 years old, Rosie and Lottie are full of personality and resilience. They both have cerebral palsy—Lottie is GMFCS level 5 and Rosie level 4—as well as cerebral vision impairment. Lottie’s vision is very limited, but she loves music, singing, and the water. Rosie is an animal lover, loves her farm toys, and is becoming wonderfully bossy as her communication grows.

Despite a life filled with therapies, surgeries, and constant appointments, the girls continue to amaze everyone with their strength and spirit. They still require regular trips to Perth for therapy and upcoming surgery, which come with financial strain as travel and accommodation aren’t fully covered.

Thank you for helping us support this beautiful family.
