Supporting Owen

Hurt to Help is very proud and honoured to be able to support Owen Begley, a ripping young guy, battling ANCA vasculitis. Like other 15 year old boys Owen loves hanging out with his mates, playing sport and going to school -where he gets good grades and dreams of becoming a civil engineer. Unfortunately unlike his peers Owen battles a form of ANCA vasculitis called granulomatosis, with polyangiitis, which is an autoimmune disease that attacks the blood vessels of different organs in the body. Owen has been in and out of hospital when different issues arise. Coming from Albany this has provided a real struggle for him and his family. On top of this, mum Rachel, and dad Delaney, have had to replace both motors in their cars which have broken down as a result of the extra travel.

Recently Owen’s kidneys have been most affected by the condition, causing them to fail and as a result Owen now requires dialysis and a kidney transplant further in the future.

Owen and his family are such genuine, kind hearted people and we are extremely lucky that recent events such as Bin to Bin, Reps for Relief habitual_strength and grindandfreeze have granted us the funds to be able to support these incredible people. To everyone that has supported these events and Hurt to Help, this is the difference you are making, truly changing lives. Thank you so much, it means the world.
